Oluf Brønnum & Co. started in Copenhagen in 1874 and is still owned by the family. Today Brønnum is one of Denmark’s largest suppliers of professional kitchen equipment, serving hospitals, care homes, schools, hotels and restaurants, and planning and fitting out complete commercial kitchens and canteens.

With more than 20,000 items in the range, from kitchen machines to porcelain, glass and cutlery, and showrooms with a Food Lab in Herlev and Aarhus, Brønnum depends on accurate product information, drawings and imagery in every channel, from consultants’ project work to the webshop.

Kontainer is the foundation for that, acting as Brønnum’s product data hub and DAM and connecting product data and media across their systems.

The challenge

20,000 products, many sources, one consistent picture

With more than 20,000 items from many of the world’s leading kitchen equipment brands, Brønnum handles a constant flow of product data, images and documents. Product information lives in the ERP system, while brochures, specifications, certificates and drawings arrive from suppliers in many different formats.

Consultants, planners and customers expect to find the right drawing, certificate or product photo straight away, and the website and webshop need exactly the same, up-to-date information. Keeping data and files consistent across systems by hand does not scale, and every mismatch costs time and trust.

The Solution

Product data, media and ERP working as one

Brønnum uses Kontainer as their product data hub (PIM) and DAM, the central place for product data and media. Product information, brochures, specifications, certificates, drawings and CAD and BIM files are stored together and linked to the right product.

A two-way integration with Navision keeps product data, suppliers and categories in sync, with scheduled imports running throughout the day and a full resync every weekend. Media is matched with product data between the DAM and the product data hub during working hours and in a nightly run, assets are sorted into albums automatically, and AI-powered tagging makes files easier to find.

For publishing, Brønnum’s Umbraco website and webshop pull images and product data straight from Kontainer through the API, using a JSON file and CDN URLs, so nothing has to be moved between systems by hand.
