Dansani started in 1983 as a one-man business founded by Thomas Bjerrum. Today the company designs its bathroom furniture in its own studio in Copenhagen, produces it in southern Denmark, and sells through retailers in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.

Every series comes in many sizes, colours, materials and configurations, which means a large and constantly growing library of product visuals, from packshots to lifestyle images.

To keep that library reliable for both internal teams and dealers, Dansani uses Kontainer DAM as the single source for its product visuals and the data attached to them.

The challenge

Scattered data, duplicates and loss of control

With thousands of product visuals across series, sizes and finishes, Dansani’s asset library kept growing faster than anyone could maintain it by hand.

Metadata was entered inconsistently, the same article numbers appeared more than once on the same asset, and files were duplicated across folders. Finding the correct, approved visual for a product took time, and keeping categories accurate depended on manual review.

The result was less control over which images and data reached dealers, and more hours spent checking and correcting files instead of using them.

Metadata that cleans itself up

In Kontainer, Dansani’s asset metadata is cleaned up automatically, so product visuals are categorised consistently without manual review.

A scheduled job runs every night, scans the relevant folder structure in the DAM and updates each file’s metadata based on its filename patterns. New and changed files are categorised correctly by the next morning.

A separate one-off maintenance action removes duplicate article numbers from asset metadata, giving Dansani a clean foundation to build on.
